unbelievable
that sign says it all. our golden state warriors toppled the mighty dallas mavericks in the biggest upset in nba playoff history. ucla boys baron davis and matt barnes are coming up huge in the post-season! baron's proved himself to be one of the true leaders in the game, taking over time and time again in the clutch. if only he could stay healthy…
this photo reminds me of when i met dallas mavericks owner mark cuban back in his dotcom days. he was head of a young startup named audionet, which eventually became broadcast.com and then got purchased by yahoo in one of the biggest deals of all time. i met him when he came in to pitch me about spending microsoft ad dollars with them. nice guy, straight shooter, knew his stuff. unlike alot of folks, i like the guy. yeah, perhaps he talks too much, but he's passionate, he knows what he's talking about (mostly), he's not afraid to buck the system, and he's willing to have a dialogue and listen to counterpoint.
and i don't think people realize the interesting business he's crafting in the film space, as owner of 2929 entertainment. he's basically purchased up vertical film companies, effectively owning the channel, and is introducing digital film into the mainstream by funding digital film productions, creating a digital distribution channel, and having digital capable projection in his theaters.
but enough about mark cuban, for today, he's the biggest loser. go warriors!
