the time is now to visit colma

colma

today in san francisco, richard wong and h.p. mendoza's colma: the musical opens at the landmark embarcadero.  this is great news for this locally produced independent film that premiered at the sfiaaff a couple back and went on to pick up distribution.  it was the surprise fan favorite at the 2006 sfiaaff and went on to be recognized broadly as a nominee for an independent spirit awards.  pretty incredible journey for this little diy film.  big ups to all the colma cast and crew, it's well deserved!  it will also be opening in new york and los angeles, and who knows from there.

if you have yet to see it, i can't encourage you enough to see it.  fun, heartwarming, and touching with cinematic flourishes more common with high budget films, colma will leave a lasting impression and having you singing all the way home.

and i'm not alone in this sentiment…
